Why is Bijlmer ArenA station in Amsterdam not in the top 10? It clearly should be. And what of the stations of the future? Surely one to look out for would be Isle of Dogs Station on the London Crossrail project.

Great list, and a great blog topic all around. Train stations are architecturally awesome, as well as being a frequent place where travel people tend to be for long periods of time. Two others for thought though:

1. Grand Central Terminal - The Beaux Arts structure is probably one of the most imposing to stand it, and it an absolute New York landmark. Even though its just used for commuter trains, it's still gorgeous.

2. Keleti pályaudvar - Budapest's main train station is a real Victorian treat. Just a couple of hours from Vienna by train, the gorgeous train shed and station are really something to look at. Upon leaving the station, you are immersed in Hungary, an island of foreignness in an otherwise completely Germanic, Slavic and Latin Europe.
