“I took this picture while traveling the “gringo trail” for one month in October of 2008. We did the classic Nazca line flight and a had a whole day left before our night bus to Arequipa was leaving, so we took a cab to see the pre-inca mummies. It took a 20 minute trip to get there and the whole site is though having a good – touristic – infrastructure not very crowded. It is a quite big burial site with about a dozen of graves restored. What is really special about those mummies is, that because of the graves being closed by use of a local tree which not only shields the sun but also helps keeping the inside dry, the bodies are extremely well preserved.” — Darian
