tripwolf First Travel App to Offer Augmented Reality
This week we’re presenting the first mobile travel guide application for the iphone with an integrated Augmented Reality Viewer at the ITB in Berlin. Augmented Reality enhances reality by connecting the real world with the digital world. It tracks the current geographic location with the GPS Signal and then displays all available information on the live screen browser using the iPhone camera. Travelers will now be able to point their iPhone at any new object in a foreign city and retrieve all available information the online travel guide has, without having to open up a book or entering data. Due to the latest technological developments, the Augmented Reality feature will also be available in the offline mode (no roaming costs).
The large amount of information on sights, restaurants, bars, hotels, etc. is organized and displayed in an intelligent way in the browser and assigned to the matching sights in real time. You only need to touch one of the shown Points of Interest and all the information will be displayed in detail. “Augmented Reality is the perfect extension for the tripwolf iPhone app. Finally the time has come where you don’t have to know what you’re looking for to find information on it. Now all you have to do is point the camera on the object in question and instantly you’ll see all the information available,” says Alexander Trieb, tripwolf CEO.
See it tomorrow, March 12th at ITB in Berlin and check back for more info – for now, download the tripwolf app here!
