Bus Strike in Sweden

By Anna Etmanska

If you plan to visit Sweden in the coming days, please be aware that the bus strike in Stockholm and in the province of Västerbotten is still going on. What’s more, it’s scheduled to spread to the province of Skåne on July 15th, and on July 18th airport shuttle buses are expected to join in. Currently, there is no bus service in the city of Stockholm (except where buses replace train service) and there are no buses running in Västerbotten in the northern part of the country, including the popular line between Haparanda on the Finnish border and Sundsvall on the Bothnia coast.

The following Flygbussarna airport shuttle services are included in the possible strike starting on the 18th July.

Stockholm:
· Arlanda Airport-Stockholm City,
· Arlanda Airport-Bromma Airport
· Bromma Airport-Stockholm City,
· Viking Line ferry terminal-Stockholm City

Gothenburg:
· Landvetter Airport-Gothenburg
· Landvetter Airport-Borås
· City Airport-Gothenburg

Malmö:
· Malmö Airport-Malmö-Lund, Svedala

These Flygbussarna airport bus services are excluded from a possible strike and will operate according to a normal timetable:
· Skavsta Airport-Stockholm City
· Skavsta Airport-Gullmarsplan, Stockholm
· Skavsta Airport-Linköping
· Skavsta Airport-Örebro
· Västerås Airport-Stockholm City
· Transfer buses for Destination Gotland/ Nynäsham

For more info on the strike, please visit The Local - an English language newspaper in Sweden. Of course, I will also post relevant updates here as soon I get them.
